MAINTENANCE
Lubrication
The Rhino 1540 is a rugged, dependable Blade that
should perform satisfactorily with the following
preventive maintenance:
Lubricate the Moldboard Pivot Pin (Figure Mnt-
0002) and the Moldboard Tilt Pin (Figure Mnt-
0001) after every 10 hours of operation. Decals are
placed in locations about the implement indicating
locations of Grease Fittings.
Replace excessively worn Grader Blade when
ditching. A badly worn cutting edge increases the
strain on the Blade and the tractor and reduces
efficiency.
If the Gauge Wheel is used, a Grease Fitting is
provided at the Caster Pivot location, and on wheel
hub.
Proper Torque For Fasteners
The chart lists the correct tightening torque for fasteners. When bolts are to be tightened or replaced, refer to
this chart to determine the grade of bolts and the proper torque except when specific torque values are
assigned in manual text.
Recommended Torque in Foot Pounds Unless Otherwise Stated in the Manual*
NOTE: These values apply to fasteners as received from supplier, dry or when lubricated with normal engine
oil. They do not apply if special graphitic or molydisulphide greases or other extreme pressure lubricants are
used. This applies to both UNF fine and UNC coarse threads.
